ICC World Cup 2019: Indian Cricket Team’s Alternate Jersey For World Cup Revealed

Indian cricket team will play against South Africa in their opening game of ICC world cup 2019. They normally don blue colors in limited overs formats. But there has been news that an alternate jersey is on the line for India for this world cup.
IANS has revealed the first image that depict the colors of this alternate jersey. As confirmed by IANS, this is not exactly an away jersey for India. It is predominated by orange color and will be used by the team when they play against England in World Cup.
As per new ICC rules, the host team of cricket world cup will retain their jersey. Since India and England use blue as their primary color, India might as well use this alternate jersey.
“There has been a lot of talks and speculation and people have been calling it an away jersey. But it isn’t. It is an alternate jersey that the team will wear when they play England on June 30.
“As per the new rules, the hosts get to retain their jersey colour when they play an ICC event. Since India also have a blue jersey like England, there is a slight change in colour,” the source explained.
Ever since the colored jerseys were introduced in ODIs, India predominantly used Blue as their primary color. Although, shades of blue were used, it will be a spectacle for Indian cricket fans to see the team in Orange jersey for the first time.
India Favorites for World Cup 2019
India are going into World Cup with tournament favorites tag alongside hosts England. However, the Men in Blue will need to play their potential to win the tournament.
Australia and England are looking strong and won comprehensively in their respective games. India will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa. They are a well balanced side and will look to win most of their league stage games.
On the other hand, India had a scare when Virat Kohli injured his finger during a training session on Saturday. The Indian team physio attended to his injury and the skipper was seen walking off with his thumb in ice water.
However, the team management are confident that Virat Kohli will recover in time for the first game against South Africa on Wednesday. Similarly, Kedar Jadhav is also recovering to his full fitness and India will be optimistic ahead of their tournament opener.
