The emergence of English speedster Jofra Archer has been quite sensational. Just a few months ago, Archer wasn’t even in the national reckoning. It was only in March when he became eligible to play for England. After playing just 3 ODI’s, he has already become one of the sought after players in the tournament and is expected to be an X factor for the English team.
He has already become one of the spearheads of the English attack and is also considered one of the best bowlers. Besides that, he has also developed a great understanding of some of the top batters in world cricket. He named Jos Buttler, Virat Kohli and David Warner as the three best batters in world cricket at the moment. He further explained what separate the trio.
Archer wasn’t quite sure whether of his participation in the World Cup He was not even named in the preliminary squad but he finally managed to make it to the main team. He will provide a much-needed balance to the pace department if the No 1 ODI team in the world harbour hopes of winning their maiden World Cup.
Archer called David Warner ‘the most dangerous batsman’ in the world, he also heaped praise on his teammate Jos Buttler and Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
“You can’t look past the trio of Jos (Buttler), Kohli and Warner from my point of view. Jos can hit your best ball out of the ground – he’s a freak! The other two are different. Kohli will be ahead of the game in terms of knowing what you’re going to bowl, he dissects teams. With Warner, I don’t think anyone hits the ball harder. He’s a real competitor and coming off the back of a great IPL,” he said in an exclusive interview with Cricbuzz.
