Singing sensation Lata Mangeshkar on Thursday (July 11), has taken to her Twitter account that she has heard MS Dhoni is contemplating about the retirement. Dhoni had done an excellent job for India as a leader apart from playing a quintessential role in helping the youngsters. In the first semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2019 against New Zealand, Team India wicketkeeper-batsman has played a courageous knock at the Old Trafford before the moment of brilliance from Martin Guptill cut short his innings on 50 off 72 deliveries.

Dhoni, who turned 38 on July 7 (Sunday), had a mixed run in the United Kingdom (UK).

The celebrated cricketer had also faced the wrath for his slow-show at Edgbaston where he scored unbeaten 42 off 31 against England. He is the fourth leading run-getter for India in the twelfth edition of the ODI showpiece. In eight innings, Dhoni had accumulated 273 runs.

Dhoni, who managed two half-centuries, also remained unbeaten against the Windies at Manchester. He scored 56 off 61 deliveries.

Apart from the criticism, Virat Kohli had further backed his former skipper and senior batsman, Dhoni. He has often maintained that Dhoni as a senior campaigner knows what he is to do in his team’s benefit.

Moreover, with many believing that Dhoni is thinking about bidding adieu to gentleman’s game, Lata had backed Dhoni.

Furthermore, she had requested Dhoni that he should not even think about it.

Also, the traditional Bollywood singer Lata appealed Dhoni by saying that, ‘nation needs you’. Besides, she further asserted that Dhoni should continue playing for the country.

“Namaskar M S Dhoni ji.Aaj kal main sun rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain.Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye.Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laayiye.@msdhoni. (Hello, MS Dhoni ji. Of late, I have been hearing that you want to retire. Please don’t think that way. The country needs your game and it is my personal request too that you don’t think of retirement),” Lata Tweeted.

Earlier, many scathed Ranchi star for his slow-approach. But certainly, the support from an unusual quarter speaks volumes about MSD’s influence when it comes to the cricket in a nutshell.
