Jofra Archer has been the name on the headlines for quite a few days now. He made brilliant progress in his cricketing career and grown from strength to strength to be picked in the ICC World Cup 2019 squad for Eoin Morgan-led England side.
He immediately made an impact on the game with his brilliant spell against South African team. Meanwhile, in the press conference, when a reporter asked Eoin Morgan regarding the presence of Jofra Archer in the team, he came up with a surprising answer.
He told that it is Sri Lanka, which is a surprise package for him, as they added at least 10 new players in their side for the ICC World Cup 2019. Further, Eoin Morgan quoted that he has seen a couple of two new names on the squad list, whom he never played in his last 10-year career.

Sri Lanka got 10 new members – Eoin Morgan
Eoin Morgan feels that Jofra Archer isn’t a surprise package. The lanky all-rounder has already played the game across the globe and against a few quality players of the game. Every cricket fanatic is aware of his calibre on the field, which won’t make him a surprise inclusion.
“Do you believe Jofra Archer is the main surprise package of this tournament?”
Eoin Morgan answered ”“No, Sri Lanka got about ten new members or something. Don’t they? Sri Lanka have picked a couple of guys I haven’t played against and I have been playing for ten years. I think that’s the surprise (package) for me.”
Well, as Eoin Morgan said, Jofra Archer has justified his selection in the team right in the first game of the tournament. The fast bowler rattled the defence of South Africa in their chase during the first game of the World Cup.
“Slowish pitch, he (Archer) bowled fast and accurate and it’s outstanding. He is taking everything in his stride at the moment and he is improving every day and that’s very exciting. A huge amount of pleasure. It’s an area we were always trying to improve on and certainly we are looking for match-winning contributions in the field,” Eoin Morgan had said after the game in praise of Archer.
Well, it would be interesting to see how Jofra Archer approaches the remaining games in the tournament. They will next play Pakistan in their second game on June 3rd.
