South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada has been the standout bowler for Delhi Capitals in Vivo IPL 12 and is currently the holder of the purple cap. His aura and presence have left the oppositions in shock and he has gone onto make amends.
With a barrage of inswingers and outswingers with both the old and the new ball, Kagiso Rabada also knows how to bowl Yorkers after Yorkers. The one he bowled to Andre Russell in a Super over is the ball of the tournament according to me. He also went onto defend just 10 runs in the Super Over.
Apart from that oarticular match, Kagios Rabada has been a consistent performer for DC and has given Shreyas Iyer wickets whenever the team has been under the pump.
The youngster is the best fast bowler in the world at present and the sort of form he is going through, he might well be the player who South Africa might be looking at to help them win their 1st World Cup title.
Meanwhile Rabada recorded his best ever spell in T20 cricket when he bagged 4/21 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has improved by leaps and bounds in the last few matches and will be eager to make a point in the business end of the tournament.
He will be an integral part of the South Africa squad for the 2019 World Cup which is slated to be played in England and Wales from 30th May.
During an exclusive interview with the Sportstar, Kagiso Rabada revealed the workload management in IPL in the lead up to the biggest cricketing event of the year.
Kagiso Rabada has been suspended in the past for his reactions after taking wickets. However behind that angry young man there is someone who is ready to learn and push for that extra strive.
Rabada further revealed that in IPL most of the players are under pressure and performance is an essential criterion for the cash-rich league.
“In the IPL, you are always under pressure and that opens your mind up. You’re always playing good players and there’s really no game where you get to relax or chill. You can never do that, you are always on your toes and it teaches you how to deal with pressure.”
Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada further added that all the teams have a pretty strong bowling attack in the tournament but he added that India has been the team with their bowling line-up which has taken their game to a different level.
“Well, I feel every team at the moment, not just us, has a good bowling attack. That’s why this World Cup will be so exciting in my opinion. It won’t be easy for any team. Pakistan, England, Australia, us, India; every team has decent bowling (attack). India has proved to be really good in recent times,” Kagiso Rabada added.
The speedster will be an integral part of the South African side for the 2019 World Cup. At such an young age, Kagiso Rabada has already transformed in to a spearhead of any bowling attack he has been part with. The next match for the Delhi Capitals will be played on 28th April, 2019 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.
