ICC World Cup 2019: Nothing To Worry About MS Dhoni’s Finger – Team Official
Recently, we came across MS Dhoni spitting the blood from his finger during the game against England. A section of people was worried about those pictures, as they desperately want him to feature in the remaining games of the world cup as well. Regarding the same, the team official reveals a piece of good news to the fans.
Fans and former cricketers have been left disappointed with the way Dhoni has struggled to score runs at a brisk pace in the tournament, thus, questioning his intent and capabilities to collect runs freely and quickly like he used to do in his initial years.
Against England, the 37-year-old became the centre of attention as he drew a lot of ire for his batting approach in the match which India lost by 31 runs on Sunday.
With India needing some 50 odd runs from the last five overs after Hardik Pandya got out, the former Indian skipper was seen struggling to find boundaries and scored the bulk of his runs in singles and doubles. He, along with Kedar Jadhav, scored 39 runs off the final 31 balls, which included 20 singles and seven dot deliveries.
MS Dhoni is a warrior:
Amidst, the pictures of Dhoni sucking his thumb and spitting blood went viral on the internet. Speaking of the same, one of the officials revealed that MS Dhoni’s finger is fine for the next game.
“Hai toh pahadi, woh yodha hai (he hails from the mountains and is a warrior). After more than 300 ODIs, do you think these little things even bother him? He has an amazing capacity to ignore pain. But more importantly, his finger is fine and there is nothing to worry about,” said a source speaking to IANS.
“If you wait to be 100 per cent before you play a game maybe you’d have to wait five years before you play the next game. It’s something I can afford to do (play with pain),” MS Dhoni once said regarding injuries.
Meanwhile, there are reports being speculated that the ex-skipper of the Indian team MS Dhoni is likely to call curtains on his ODI career. However, a section of fans want him to play T20 World Cup as well.
