The legendary Sachin Tendulkar has predicted West Indies as one of the contenders for the semi-finalists of the World Cup 2019. The ‘Master Blaster’ is currently in England as part of the official commentary team for the premier quadrennial event. And according to him, the current form of the Windies side has high chances of making it into the final four.

West Indies sent out a warning after their scored 421 runs in the warm-up match against New Zealand. And even after not regarded as a competition, they came up with a dangerous show. In their first tournament campaign, they scripted an enigmatic seven-wicket win against Pakistan. They restricted Pakistan at their second-lowest World Cup score of 105 in the very first game.

Windies assessed faults in Pakistan’s opening batting line and used well-versed short balls to take them all out in mere 21 overs. Whereas, they got to their target in less than 15 overs.

And Tendulkar predicts that they’ll definitely be seen in the semi-finals if they continue their rampage.

Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to share his thoughts on West Indies. The post read, “West Indies have been aggressive & are bowling test match line & lengths. They have used short-pitched deliveries rather well. If they continue in this manner, they are contenders for the TOP 4.

Meanwhile, in their second match, they did the same against defending champions, Australia. West Indies used short-pitch deliveries aggressively and took down their top four batsmen. Australia lost Marcus Stoinis when they didn’t even surpass the figure of a hundred. Oshane Thomas, Andre Russell and Sheldon Cotrell threatened Australia with their bowling line and lengths.

Nonetheless, West Indies has shown their fire. And will be looking forward to spring back in the game against South Africa on June 10.
