ICC World Cup 2019: Top Ten Bowlers With More Wickets than Runs Scored in ODIs
Tournaments like the World Cup are claimed to be meant for batsmen. The scores go higher, often surpassing the previous most top records. However, bowlers play a significant role in the victory of a team. They can be deadly for even the best batsman in the world, at the crucial point of the match. There are, in fact, some of the top bowlers with more wickets in their kitty than the runs scored by them in ODI cricket.
These bowlers are often sent in to bat lower down the batting order of the team during a match. They are expected to finish the game with a good show. While many end up fairing better than anticipated and turn-out to be an allrounder, there are bowlers with lowest batting records to their name.
Here is the list of ten such bowlers who have more wickets than the runs scored by them in ODIs.
#10 Junaid Khan (110 wickets, 68 runs):
Drafted into Pakistan’s ODI side in 2011, the left-arm fast-medium pacer has played 76 ODI matches for the team. Pakistan has always been known for having good speedster in their squad. But ever since he faced injuries, Junaid could not make a successful come back in the international side of Pakistan.
With an average of 29.24, Junaid has taken 110 wickets receding approximately six runs in an over. Whereas, he has a total of 68 runs to his name in his ODI career with 25 runs being his highest.
Meanwhile, because of his not-so-good form in the recent games, Junaid has been excluded from the World Cup 2019 squad of Pakistan.
