As many fans believe the ODI World Cup this year will be the best chance for the Indian Team to end their ICC title drought, it has already hit an obstacle by injuries to main players like Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer.
Jasprit Bumrah’s availability will be crucial for Indian Team in the ODI World Cup 2023, India’s team failed to win a single ICC trophy post-Champions Trophy victory in 2013 under the leadership of legendary MS Dhoni, after which India failed to cross the hurdle in the knockout stages despite doing well in the league stages.
Jasprit Bumrah’s Absence Will Leave a Huge Hole In the Indian Team – Aaron Finch
Former Australian skipper Aaron Finch believes Bumrah’s absence will leave a huge void in the Indian team if he is unable to recover before the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. India largely missed the services of Bumrah in the T20 World Cup 2022 to pick up vital wickets in crucial times.
“I think getting Jasprit Bumrah back is vital for India. He is the best in the world when he is up and running. So, if he is not available, that will probably lead to a hole in the innings in terms of wicket-taking ability because he is so dangerous,” Aaron Finch said.
As Jasprit Bumrah underwent back surgery in New Zealand, he will miss the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League and he will do rehabilitation to fully recover for the upcoming cricket season.
