IND VS AUS: India is leading the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (2023) by 2-0 against Australia. Men in Blue pace bowling leader Jasprit Bumrah didn’t feature in the series due to an injury. Saba Karim thinks that it will be very hard for Bumrah to play all formats and team India should be prepared to play without him.

Former Indian wicketkeeper feels that Bumrah will have to modify his action to elongate his career-
“Looking at Jasprit Bumrah’s injury, I believe that he will have to re-module his bowling action when he returns,”
“If he wants to prolong his career, he will also have to choose the formats that he wants to play in. Both the Indian team and the selectors know that they will have to prepare a bowling unit without Bumrah. We have seen that happen in the last few months,” Karim explained.
Indian speedster has been out of the squad since September 2022 due to an injury, the right-arm pacer is currently recovering at National Cricket Academy ( NCA) in Bengaluru, he is doing rehabilitation to fully recover for the upcoming cricket season.

“His action is such that there is a lot of stress on his back, which is why he keeps getting injured. His workload management has always been very good. He started off by playing white-ball cricket and later moved to red-ball cricket. He was given enough rest in between matches,” he further added.
