India A Squad: Disappointed Jalaj Saxena Takes to Twitter Following Snub
Jalaj Saxena, who’s an allrounder and represents Kerala, is dejected following his omission from India A squad despite a good showing in the recent past. It’s pertinent to mention that the selectors on Tuesday (May 14) have named at least five different India A squad to play a series against Sri Lanka A and Windies A.
Saxena had last featured for India A when they faced England Lions in February 2018. He managed to bag seven wickets in just two matches.
Besides, the squads were announced for five one-day and two four-day matches against Sri Lanka A. The series will commence from May 25.
On the other side, India A will take on Windies A in the five one-day and three four-day games. The series will get underway from July 11.
On being ignored, Saxena is baffled following the snub in India’s second-string team.
While taking to the micro-blogging website Twitter, Saxena has asked what he has done wrong that he had been given the cold shoulder. Recently, Saxena has represented Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but due to the competition, Saxena couldn’t get a game under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership.
“What have I done so terribly wrong to deserve this?”, Saxena wrote on his Twitter handle.
The rechristened Capitals have made it to the playoffs in the IPL 2019 for the first time since 2012.
In the coveted multi-day Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season, Saxena has played a remarkable role for his state team. He accumulated 551 runs at an average of 39.35 apart from 28 scalps with an exceptional average of 21.89. Thus, he helped Kerala to make it to the semis for the first time in the Ranji leg.
Since the 2012-13 Ranji season, the standout performer Saxena has proved his credentials from time to time. And yet, again his performances have gone unnoticed which subsequently led to his frustration.
Here’s the tweet from Jalaj Saxena following his latest snub from India A squad:
What have I done so terribly wrong, to deserve this?
