ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2019: India Suffers A Defeat Against Pakistan In Thrilling Semi-Final
On Wednesday (20th November), Pakistan Emerging team beat India Emerging team in the thrilling first semi-final of the ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2019.
The unbeaten side Pakistan Emerging team won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Omair Yousuf and Haider Ali provided the 90 runs partnership for the first wicket.
Omair Yousuf scored 66 runs and Haider Ali played the knock of 43 runs. Captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Rohail Nazir also scored 35 runs. Middle-order batsmen Saif Badar (47*) and Imran Rafiq (28 runs) played some crucial knocks at late.
During that innings, Pakistan managed two more good partnerships, apart from that final. While the opener Yousuf and captain Nazir put the 48 runs partnership for the second wicket, Badar and Rafiq set the 51 runs partnership for the fifth wicket. These batting helped Pakistan Emerging team to manage the first innings total of 267/7 (50 overs).
Among the Indian Emerging bowlers, Shivam Mavi (2/53), Saurabh Dubey (2/60) and Hrithik Shokeen (2/59) all took two wickets.
India Emerging team scored 264/8
In reply, India Emerging team were moving smoothly to the target due to the solid batting from most of the top orders. While the opener Aryan Juyal scored just 17 runs, another opener and captain BR Sharath scored 47 runs. Wasim Jaffer’s nephew Armaan Jaffer scored 46 runs while the no.3 batsman Sanvir Singh played a great innings of 76 runs.
However, most of the late batsmen failed to maintain the same situation as they lost their wickets cheaply. In the end, Chinmay Sutar scored 28 not out but he just failed to secure the victory.
India Emerging team needed eight runs to win in the final over and they only managed to score four runs as Pakistan Emerging team won that match by three runs. At the end of that second innings, India Emerging team managed to score 264/8 in 50 overs.
Among the Pakistan Emerging team bowlers, Mohammad Hasnain (2/61) and Saif Badar (2/57) scalped two wickets each.
t was the first-ever victory for Pakistan Emerging team against India Emerging team in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup history.
