ToggleBCCI recently named the India squad for the ICC WTC 2023 final in London against Australia to be played from June 7-11. This included the return of Ajinkya Rahane after more than one year to the Indian Test squad.
According to a report, the India Cricket Team will fly to London in batches for the ICC World Test Championships Final. On May 23–24, head coach Rahul Dravid and his coaching staff will take a flight to London. He will be leaving alongside a few of the players that will be eliminated from the IPL 2023 Playoffs competition.
As soon as their IPL obligations are finished, the rest of the team will join him for the training camp. On June 1, Rohit Sharma and the rest of the players will start a formal camp.
Only the final round of practice sessions with the team will see Cheteshwar Pujara in action. He is currently in England competing for Sussex in Division II of the County Championship. After May 21, he will take a vacation from County before joining Team India for the WTC Final.
Mukesh Kumar, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen, Navdeep Saini In Fray To Go To England As Net Bowlers With Indian Team
Meanwhile, Kushan Sarkar, a journalist for the PTI news, has tweeted that the Indian team is also expected to fly to England with some net bowlers to prepare for the swinging and seaming conditions and to counter the Australia pace attack comprising of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Scott Boland amongst others.
As per Sarkar, the names being discussed as net bowlers include Mukesh Kumar, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen, and Navdeep Saini.
He tweeted: “Expecting fringe or A team bowlers like Mukesh Kumar, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen, Navdeep Saini to travel as net bowlers depending on how their IPL teams fare.”
