ToggleAhead of the third Ranchi ODI of India vs Australia 2019 series, Team India players had relished a net session while opting for the sixes challenge on Thursday (March 7). With local lad, MS Dhoni facing most of the deliveries, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu and Yuzvendra Chahal has joined the veteran to take the challenge head-on.

However, it was not evident through a video who had hit the longest six. In such a context, the 37-year-old had gone downtown to see balls sailing over the boundary ropes.
Adding to a stat, Dhoni is just 33 runs short of achieving the milestone of 17,000 runs across formats, faced as many as four deliveries. He’s set to join Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag.
If he went on to achieve the feat, he would become overall sixth to accomplish the feat.
Dhoni who has set an example of being the best finisher, further went on to grow leaps and bounds, to carve out a niche in the cricketing folklore.
According to the 54-second video released by the BCCI on its Twitter handle, Chahal connected the ball well, but Jadeja couldn’t get enough from his swinging willow.
Meanwhile, with the sun shining brightly at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Stadium, Dhoni will be the centre of attraction in Friday’s clash.
Earlier, India has overhauled the visitors in the first two games. The all-round show saw the Men in Blue making a strong comeback following a Twenty20 International series loss 0-2.
The full-blown practice session saw Dhoni making well use of footsteps to send the ball literally into the orbit. With third ODI around the corner, Rishabh Pant and Bhuvneshwar Kumar sweated out in nets.
From Dhoni to Pant, Team India gears to seal the ODI series:
Earlier, skipper Virat Kohli has maintained that they would rely on the rotation procedure as the ongoing limited-overs leg is the last-gasp of preparation ahead of 2019 World Cup for India.

In the opening game of the five-ODI series, Dhoni alongside Kedar Jadhav stitched unbeaten 141-run stand for the fifth wicket. Dhoni scored unbeaten 59, as Jadhav remained unbeaten on 81 off 87 deliveries.
India sealed the Hyderabad ODI by six wickets before winning the last-over contest by eight runs in Nagpur.
Ranchi will host the ODI after a prolonged gap of two years. Well, Dhoni is equally ready to entertain his home crowd.
