  1. After dismissing Australian opener David Warner in Australia’s second innings, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the highest wicket-taker for India in a Test season. Taking that wicket, Ashwin surpassed former Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble’s record (64 Test wickets in 2004/05) who was the previous record holder for India. At the end of the day, Ashwin has taken 67 Test wickets in this season.

Overall record tally for the most wickets taken by a bowler in a Test season, Ashwin is currently in the second position. South African pacer Dale Steyn’s 2007/08 performance is currently at the top position in this list where the pacer had taken 78 Test wickets.
