India won the recently concluded three-match series against England in style by inflicting a humiliating 75-run defeat on the visitors. Chasing a mammoth 203 to win the series, England lost their last eight wickets for only 8 runs to get bundled out on 127, after being 119/2 at one stage. The match, however, did not justify the way the series was played out.
Both matches prior to the series-decider in Bengaluru went right down to the wire and witnessed some exceptional individual performances from either sides. It was England who drew the first blood in the series by winning the series opener in Kanpur with utmost ease and were well-set to win the second match too before a brilliant spell by Jasprit Bumrah and some poor umpiring decisions quashed their hopes of winning the match.
