India vs New Zealand 2019: Hardik Pandya Claims Kane Williamson’s Spectacular Catch
Indian National Cricket Team all-rounder Hardik Pandya continues with his moment of brilliance on the field. Interestingly, on his return to the national squad following his controversial statement alongside KL Rahul on Koffee with Karan TV show, Hardik delivered the punch against hosts New Zealand with the ball in hand at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. So far, India vs New Zealand 2019 series has witnessed a lot on the field.
Pertinently, he replaced opposite number Vijay Shankar in the ongoing third ODI against the Black Caps after serving a four-match suspension.
The 27-year-old Baroda cricketer Pandya bowled full quota of 10 overs—to concede 45 runs for his two wickets. However, his athleticism and contribution have boosted the team in a nutshell.
Pandya and Rahul’s interim suspension was lifted on January 24 after being suspended with immediate effect on January 11. The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) took the decision post-Hardik-Rahul backlash for their inappropriate comments. They discussed the matter with the Amicus Curiae PS Narasimha. Concurrently, the two-member CoA is overseeing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The medium pacer Pandya, who bowled brilliantly further did an excellent job while fielding at the short mid-wicket. In the 17th over of Kiwis’ innings, Pandya plucked a catch out of thin air while leaping to his left to dismiss dangerous Kane Williamson.
To clear it further, Pandya pulled off the sensational catch on the bowling of promising leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal when Williamson came down the track to break the shackles. But he failed to keep the ball down which resulted in causality.
The right-handed batsman Williamson managed 48-ball 29 comprised of four boundaries.
Again, the Men in Blue bowlers bowled exceptionally well. The bowlers bowled in tandem to stem the run which results in wickets at regular intervals. In the third ODI, the Black Caps were bundled out for 243 in 49 overs.
However, India is in command in the run chase. While filing this report, the visitors put 168 for three on board in 31.1 overs.
