Ravichandran Ashwin starred in the morning session of day three as India bundled Windies for a mere 181 in the first innings to make them follow-on at Rajkot.

Meanwhile, India sent back six of their top batter on day two after posting a mammoth 649 runs on the board. Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja scored hundreds to guide to a massive total.

However, Roston Chase and Keemo Paul started the day on a high of Windies. Paul struck two boundaries in the opening over of the day to bring 100 runs for the visitors. They went after the bowlers to score some quick runs and soon added 50 runs for the seventh wicket.

Umesh Yadav struck for India at the right time when the partnership started to frustrate India. Paul picked the mid-wicket while pulling a short ball from Umesh Yadav three short of his half-century. On the other hand, Roston Chase continued to impress bringing up his fifty runs taking on Kuldeep Yadav. As a result, Windies also brought 150 runs for their seventh wicket.

Kuldeep, however, continued to flight the ball drawing the batsmen to drive it. After a couple of boundaries, his missed one which turned a mile to castle Chase’s timber. Ashwin then cleaned the tail without wasting too much to finish with four wickets as India lead by 468 runs.

Windies started in a positive fashion after Virat Kohli asked them to follow-on. Kraig Braithwaite and Keiron Powell looked settled against the new ball. They added 32 runs before Ashwin drew the first blood just one over before lunch. Braithwaite poised an easy catch to Prithvi Shaw at the forward short-leg to bring Shai Hope in the middle.

With nine wickets in hand, Windies have an uphill task at hand to avoid an innings defeat.
