The young talented batsman from Mumbai, Prithvi Shaw lived Prithiupto his expectation smashing a swashbuckling century on his Test debut against Windies. However, tougher challenges await for him in the upcoming days feels the former cricketers.
Meanwhile, Shaw started his international career with a sublime century to bag the man of the match award. Moreover, he became the youngest Indian batsmen to score a hundred on debut. Although it was not the best of the bowling attack, his knock showed enough prospects.

However, Prithvi Shaw’s knock punches reminded former Windies captain, Carl Hooper, of the good old Caribbean flair. However, he feels Shaw’s aggressive style with the existing technique makes him a bit vulnerable in the days to come.
“He seems to be a great talent but tends to play away from the body. Clearly, he likes to be on the back foot and play square off the wicket. It worked here (in Rajkot) but with so much gap between the bat and body, he could face issues in England and Australia,” Hooper said to PTI.

Aakash Chopra, who has the experience of facing the new ball in Australia, had a different take to this.
He feels although Prithvi Shaw needs to tighten his techniques but if an unconventional Virender Sehwag can get success in Australia, Shaw too can.
“What we have just seen is perhaps a trailer of the things to come. It looks very promising. You cannot grudge about the opposition and pitch was flat. But he will be tested (overseas) and I am sure he is aware of it. We will get to know whether he can weather the storm and what all he needs to do,” said Chopra.
However, this questions will only be answered if Prithvi Shaw tours Australia later this year. As of now, he will look to continue the excellent string of form in the second Test against Windies starting from October 12.
