Former India batsman VVS Laxman recently expressed his delight over all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, following his good show against Windies in the opening Test.
Meanwhile, Jadeja shined with the bat bringing his first international Test century. He was also pivotal with the ball returning with four wickets at Rajkot.
Ravindra Jadeja made it into the playing XI in the last Test against England after warming the bench for the first four. However, soon made his presence felt with a good knock against a quality bowling attack. Following he made it to the Asia Cup squad as a replacement after a significant period. Jadeja also made his presence felt contributing with both bat and ball.

However, VVS Laxman feels the recent knock in the first Test will provide him the much-needed confidence. Laxman, in his column in TOI, wrote that Ravindra Jadeja should look to build on the recent performances.
“I was also delighted for Ravindra Jadeja. He has made massive scores in First Class cricket and chipped in with half-centuries at the international level. But a maiden Test hundred does wonders for confidence like few other things do, and that it came on his home ground must have made it doubly special for him,” Laxman wrote.

“It has been a productive last couple of weeks for the all-rounder, and he will look to build on it as we head towards a busy, important next few months,” VVS Laxman opined.
In conclusion, the former stylish batsman also lauded Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav. Both the spinners played significant roles with the ball in each innings.
India will look for a clean sweep when the second Test starts from October 12.
