Following the announcement of India’s three different squads for Windies tour, fans slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and selectors for the omission of a high-quality teenage batsman, Shubman Gill.
The enraged fans also asked why Gill has been overlooked from the squad. The right-handed batsman has been in a rich vein of form. He had recorded two fifties in ongoing India ‘A’ tour of Windies.
In the ongoing five-match series, Gill had scored 149 runs in first three fixtures at an average of 49.67.
Earlier, fans had criticised the selection panel for picking Kedar Jadhav, who had an ordinary performance in the recently-held World Cup.

Also, Hardik Pandya and Prithvi Shaw had missed out on the much-awaited list. Prasad remarked they’re not available. Shaw is recovering from a hip injury, whereas, Pandya had a troubled back.
During the squad announcement, Prasad in his press conference responded to one of the journalists question regarding Gill’s absence.
Moreover, Prasad reiterated that Gill will be considered as he is one for the future.
Earlier, Gill had made his ODI debut in January against New Zealand when KL Rahul faced suspension alongside Pandya following the infamous ‘Koffee with Karan’ show.
Meanwhile, Indian cricket fans had slammed BCCI on Twitter after Gills was overlooked for the ODI squad.

Before breaking into the Indian Premier League (IPL), Gill had been in remarkable form with the bat in a domestic set-up.
Recently, the right-handed batsman had impressed one an all in the first-class set-up – Ranji Trophy. Besides, he had played a pivotal role for his state-side Punjab in the premium domestic competition.
Gill will be personally aiming to give his best to stay in the hunt after missing to make a final cut.
