The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the IPL 2020 from 19th September to 10th November 2020. After completion of the IPL 2020, the Indian team will travel for the Australia tour to play the four-match Test series and limited-overs bilateral series against the hosts.
The forthcoming Australia tour is going to be very crucial for the Indian team as they have to prove themselves during the Test series, who clinched the first-ever Test and ODI bilateral series trophies in Australia in the previous tour (2018/19).
Here we are talking about the five Indian cricketers who will be busy to prepare themselves for the upcoming Australia tour during the IPL 2020
The Indian opener Mayank Agarwal has already proved himself in the challenging overseas batting conditions. The 29-year-old right-handed batsman has scored 974 runs in 17 Test innings (11 Test matches) with an average of 57.29. He has already hit three centuries, including one double-century, and four half-centuries in Test career. Though he hasn’t scored a Test century yet outside India, he has hit four half-centuries in the overseas Test matches, including scoring 76, 42 and 77 runs respectively in the 2018/19 Australia tour, where he made his Test debut.
While the opening batting position is a very important part during the foreign tour, Mayank will have to play an important role in the 2020/21 Australia tour. During the IPL 2020, Mayank will serve for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). While the last IPL season (2019) was his best IPL experience as he first time scored 300+ runs in an IPL season (332 runs; average 25.53), he will definitely want to perform better in the forthcoming IPL 2020. Meanwhile, his better performances in the IPL 2020 will help the Indian team to start the upcoming tough Australia tour with great confidence.
