The former Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar was a useful all-rounder. He was a good right-handed batsman and an effective right-arm medium pacer. Prabhakar played 39 Tests and 130 ODIs from 1984 to 1996. In his international career, Prabhakar scored 1600 Test runs (average 32.65) and 1858 ODI runs (average 24.12) and also picked up 96 Test and 157 ODI wickets. In many Tests and ODIs, Prabhakar served both as an opening batsman and opening bowler.

In 2000, Prabhakar accused the former Indian captain and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev for offering him money to underperform when they were touring in Sri Lanka for an ODI tournament. However, later, Prabhakar was charged for involvement in fixing which resulted in his five-year ban from the game.
