It was the only T20I between the hosts West Indies and the visitors India at Port of Spain on 4th June 2011. After India were sent to bat first, the visitors were struggling on 56/4 at the one stage. However, the debutant Subramaniam Badrinath played a very crucial role to build the innings and set up the fighting first innings total.
For the fifth wicket, Badrinath put the 71 runs partnership with Rohit Sharma. While Rohit scored 26 runs, Badrinath was the highest run-scorer in that match as the right-handed batsman scored 43 runs off 37 balls (5 fours).
While India managed to score 159/6 (20 overs) in the first innings, West Indies were restricted to 143/5 (20 overs). Badrinath finally won the Player of the Match award while India won by 16 runs.
