It was the low-scoring T20I match between West Indies and India at Lauderhill on 3rd August 2019. In his international cricket debut, the Indian right-arm pacer Navdeep Saini impressed everyone with the ball.

After India won the toss, they sent the Caribbean team to bat first. Navdeep Saini took the ball for the first time during the fifth over of the first innings of the match. Though he conceded a boundary on his second ball, he dismissed Nicholas Pooran (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (0) on the fourth and fifth balls of that over respectively.

Saini bowled his last over of the match in the final over of that innings, where he not only dismissed the set batsman Kieron Pollard but also successfully bowled a maiden over. Saini finished the game with the bowling figures of 4-1-17-3 while West Indies only managed to score 95/9 (20 overs).

In reply, the Indian cricketers also struggled but chased down that target in 17.2 overs after losing six wickets (98/6). Debutant Saini won the Player of the Match for his superb bowling effort.
