At one stage, the right-handed opening batsman Murali Vijay was a very crucial member of the Indian Test side. From 2008 to 2018, Vijay played 87 international matches, including 61 Tests. But due to struggling form and inconsistent performances with the bat, Vijay was dropped from the Indian Test side, and he hasn’t earned any further chances from January 2019.

In the IPL 2020, Vijay will continue his service for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Though he doesn’t get many chances in the recent IPL tournament, the 36-year-old has some good T20 records, including hitting three centuries (two IPL centuries). Also, the injury became a big factor for his lesser appearances in the last domestic season.

In this tough period, if Vijay prefers to experience the foreign leagues, he will have to take the early retirement from the Indian cricket.
