Sachin Tendulkar – 76th innings
The legendary Indian Sachin Tendulkar was one of the greatest ever batsmen in international cricket history. The former right-handed batsman, who is the only batsman to hit 100 international centuries, is also holding the record of most ODI centuries by hitting it 49 times.
In his ODI career, which ran between 1989 and 2012, Tendulkar hit 49 centuries and 96 half-centuries out of the record 452 innings (463 matches). Though he started as a middle-order batsman, soon he became one of the greatest ODI openers.
After his ODI debut in December 1989, Tendulkar waited for his maiden ODI century for almost five years. In his 76th ODI innings, which was against Australia at Colombo (RPS) on 9th September 1994, Tendulkar hit his maiden ODI ton which was the knock of 110 runs. Before that century, the right-handed batsman managed to reach the 50 runs mark for 17 times, but never crossed the 84-run mark.
During his international career, Tendulkar achieved many great successes, including playing an important role for India’s victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 trophy.
