Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly – 318 runs (for 2nd wicket vs Sri Lanka at Taunton on 26th May 1999)

It was the first-ever 300+ ODI partnership and that also happened during a Cricket World Cup match. In the Group A stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 1999, India and Sri Lanka met at Taunton on 26th May 1999.
The Sri Lankan left-arm pacer Chaminda Vaas bowled the Indian opener, Sadagoppan Ramesh, on the fifth ball of that match. However, another opener Sourav Ganguly and the no.3 batsman Rahul Dravid took the entire control of that innings soon and built up the 318 runs partnership for the second wicket.
While Dravid scored 145 runs off 129 balls (17 fours and only six), Ganguly scored 183 runs off 158 balls (17 fours and 7 sixes). India scored 373/6 (50 overs) in the first innings and Sri Lanka were bowled out for 216 runs (42.3 overs).
