The current Indian pace battery is like a lion’s pack in Serengeti and the prey is always vulnerable. The Indian pace troika of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami has the skills to take down any batting order. The man who has been instrumental behind the success of these bowlers, Bharat Arun believes Indian pacers hunt like a pack.

Meanwhile, all the 19 Bangladesh (Mahmudullah was retired out) wickets in the pink-ball Test match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata were taken by Indian pacers. Ishant Sharma scalped nine wickets in the match (five in the first innings and four in the second innings).

Indian pace battery is the most lethal.

Umesh Yadav took eight wickets in the match with three in the first dig and five in the second essay. Furthermore, Mohammed Shami took two scalps in the first innings. These were Indian conditions that are not known to aid the seamers but the pink-ball was doing its bit.

Bharat Arun said after India’s win, “They (pacers) hunt as a pack. They take a lot of pride in each other. That’s the secret behind this pack. They have their processes set, work on the basics, that’s what has given them success. We are an experienced bowling attack. The beauty of this attack is how quickly they adapt to different situations. There’s a lot of dialogue amongst the bowlers and I thought they adapted so well to the conditions here. It’s definitely going to be a good challenge (New Zealand tour) and looking forward to it”.

Indian pacers have been right on the money and they have borne fruits for their hard yards. The Indian fast bowlers have worked hard on their fitness and they are breathing down the neck of the opposition batsmen. Thus, they have been instrumental in the success of the team in the recent past.

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah was even part of the Test series against South Africa and Bangladesh. Hence, India has got a potent crop of fast bowlers who can deliver the goods in any condition.
