Indian limited-over skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is currently under pressure after losing first three consecutive ODIs in a five match ODI series. Having already lost the series, the Indian team will be trying to regain their reputation in the rest of the matches. India will play the 4th ODI against the home team Australia at Manuka Oval, Canberra on Wednesday.
It is expected that the Canberra pitch will also be a batting friendly wicket, but it may be slow wicket like last Melbourne game. In all previous five ODIs at the ground, the team batting first has won the matches.
Indian batsmen performed brilliantly in this series as the top-orders took the team in the high. But the bowlers performed very disappointedly as they spoil batsmen’s hard work. Also, the fielding is another big concern for Dhoni. Indian fielders dropped some crucial catches at the important moment in this series, which could change the game had those catches would be taken successfully.
India can make two changes for the 4th encounter as India’s leading spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will replace all-rounder Gurkeerat Singh Mann and pacer Umesh Yadav. Indian team missed Ashwin badly in the last match while the Canberra pitch is expected to be slow.
Due to the same reason, Umesh may also be removed from the first XI as his performance was poor in this series and Bhuvneshwar may well replace him. On the other hand, Gurkeerat may be left out from the squad while Rishi Dhawan may get another chance.
However, India will be looking desperately to win the rest of matches in the ongoing series to regain their reputation.
India probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni (C), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishi Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Barinder Sran.
