The Indian cricket squad for upcoming T-20 Asia cup and ICC World T20 will be selected on Friday 5th February in New Delhi. The team will be selected by the BCCI’s (Board of Control for Cricket in India) national selection panel which is headed by Sandeep Patil.
BCCI sources told PTI on Wednesday, “The meeting has been scheduled on February 5 in Delhi to pick the teams for the Asia Cup and World T20 events.”
India will play a T20I series against Sri Lanka at home ahead of those two multi-nation tournaments from 9th February to 14th February. Indian squad will be announced on Friday for these two series.
The inaugural T20 Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh from 24th February to 6th March (the qualifier rounds will be played from 19th February to 22nd February). India will play in this tournament against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and a qualifying team.
After T20 Asia Cup, India will play ICC World T20 as the host nation. The tournament will be held (along with preliminary stage) from 8th March to 3rd April. India is in the tough group in super 10 along with Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and qualifier 1A. India’s journey will be started from 15th March.
Recently Indian cricket team is in very good form in the T20I cricket as they recently beat Australia in Australia by 3-0 for 3-match ODI series.
