Prithvi had to warm the benches in the initial part of the tournament when Gautam Gambhir was the captain of the side. However, the youngster got his opportunity when Gambhir decided to quit captaincy and drop himself from the team. He looked in good touch on quite a few occasions. Prithvi who idolizes Sachin Tendulkar looked in great touch and got his franchise of to brisk starts on many occasions.

However, he has to make sure that the complacency isn’t there in his game. In one of the matches, he was run out in one of the most shocking manners. It was just poor cricket by the teenager and he must be aware of the fact that senior cricket is just around the corner. However, for a person who played his 1st IPL, he did make an impression. Prithvi ended the tournament with 245 runs in 9 matches at an average of 27 which included a couple of half-centuries.
