Adam Milne, the replacement of Pat Cummins in Mumbai Indians fold, has joined the team’s camp and is also available for selection, for the next game.
In fact, he joined the camp a couple of days back and the franchise is yet to confirm his signing.
The pacer is practicing with the team at Wankhede stadium, thus confirming that he has been roped in by the franchise.
Milne’s signing comes as a surprise as he was not in contention to be selected in IPL and also went unsold.
He comes in at his base price of INR 75 Lakh, taking place of highly-impressive Cummins. The latter missed the tournament due to a back issue.
In the previous edition, Adam Milne represented Royals Challengers Bangalore.
Paceman Cummins suffered the back problem after the conclusion of the Australia-South Africa Test series.
Cummins, who has a long list of injury issues, will need few months to be fully fit. He eventually joined the list of distinct pacers to be ruled out of the tournament.
Nathan Coulter-Nile, Mitchell Starc, Jason Behrendorff and Kagiso Rabada had withdrawn from the tournament earlier.
Kedar Jadhav and Mitchell Santner were also ruled out of the tournament due to respective injuries.
Mumbai Indians face Delhi Daredevils in their next tie on April 14 at Wankhede Stadium. Both the teams went on to lose both their first two games of the lucrative competition.
Moreover, the teams are looking for their first win and one of these two will post their first win while banking on their strength.
For Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya is fit and is available for selection. However, no other changes are likely to place in the team’s camp.
For Delhi Daredevils, change doesn’t seem to be an answer as Gautam Gambhir may show some faith in same playing XI.
