Delhi Daredevils (DD) banked on Jason Roy’s blistering knock to register their first victory as they beat the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets at Wankhede on Saturday evening.
Previously, Mumbai posted 194 runs on the board courtesy some top-order brilliance from the batsmen. Surya Kumar Yadav (53), Ishan Kishan (44), and Evin Lewis (48) contributed significantly.
It was a tough day for the bowlers as it was a flat deck.
However, it was some mighty blows from Roy (91*) that helped Delhi get their first win. He was equally supported by wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.

Jason Roy: (9.5/10):

Exception with the bat, Jason Roy was the man of the hour scoring unbeaten 91 runs off just 53 balls. His innings was laced with six sixes and six fours respectively.
He went all guns blazing as Delhi cruised to a last-ball victory.
Gautam Gambhir (c): (4/10):

Skipper Gautam Gambhir failed to capitalise on the start as he got out scoring 15 runs. The southpaw is yet to score runs for Delhi.
Although he led the team well as Delhi got their first victory.
Shreyas Iyer: (6/10):

Shreyas Iyer played a second-hand to Roy scoring 27 crucial runs and helping Delhi open their account.
The stylish batsman has done well for Delhi over the years and will look to continue doing so.
Rishabh Pant (wk): (7.5/10):

Aggressive youngster Rishabh Pant played a massive role in today’s game. He struck 47 runs off 25 deliveries including six boundaries and two sixes.
He was equally responsible for Delhi to taste their first victory.
Glenn Maxwell: (5/10):

Glenn Maxwell did a good job with the ball, however, failed with the bat.
The all-rounder will need some time to settle and will be crucial in Delhi’s success.
Vijay Shankar: (1/10):

The all-rounder from Tamil Nadu Vijay Shankar had no role to play in today’s game. Although he will be raring to contribute whenever he gets an opportunity.
Daniel Christian: (6/10):

The all-rounder from Australia was one of the reasons Mumbai didn’t cross the 200-run mark.
Although he didn’t get the opportunity to bat, he will look to contribute in all the departments.
Christian picked up two consecutive wickets off successive deliveries to put brakes on Indians’ scoring rate.
Rahul Tewatia: (5.5/10):

The spinner in the form of Rahul Tewatia drew the first blood in Mumbai’s batting unit. Although he went for plenty, he returned with two wickets.
He will look to improve his performance in the next game.
Shahbaz Nadeem: (5/10):

The left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem got a good beating from the batsmen. Nadeem gave away 11 runs in an over, and as a result, didn’t complete his full quota.
However, Delhi will want an in-form Nadeem in the next clash.
Mohammed Shami: (4.5/10):

It was a tough day for the bowlers. Shami went for 36 runs in his four overs bagging a solitary wicket of Krunal Pandya.
He will look to improve his performance in the upcoming fixture.
Trent Boult: (6/10):

The pacer from New Zealand Trent Boult was a bit expensive at Wankhede. He went for 39 runs picking two wickets.
He will look to improve his performance in the next game for Delhi Daredevils.
