Two things are officially confirmed after the game between Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad. One is the visiting side, SRH officially sealed their place in the payoffs’ stage while the hosts, Delhi Daredevils are out of IPL 2018. So, the wait to lift the trophy has been extended one more year for Delhi.
Delhi Daredevils – Rishabh Pant wrecks havoc
Initially, it was Shreyas Iyer who won the toss and asked the home side to roll their arms. Accepting the challenge, Sunrisers’ bowlers made an immediate impact in the game by sending both the openers in a back to back deliveries, courtesy Shakib Al Hasan.

The vows for Delhi increased when pathetic calling between the wickets saw Delhi skipper, Shreyas Iyer walking back to the hut. However, Rishabh Pant took the onus on him and smacked the deliveries in his own style.
The surprising move to send Harshal Patel higher up the order worked a bit as well. Rishabh Pant who found his feet moving in a right way took SRH bowlers to the cleaners. He hasn’t spared any Hyderabad bowler and never made any of them settle in their shoes.
His incredible knocking helped him to bag a century to his name as well Pant finished with a massive unbeaten tally of 128 runs in just 63 balls. He numbered 15 fours and 7 sixes at an incredible strike rate of 203.17. The heroic knock helped Delhi to post a handsome 187 runs on the board.
SRH innings – Dhawan & Williamson scripts an incredible chase
In reply to the chase, Delhi was successful in seeing the back of Alex Hales but that was the only moment went in the way of Delhi Daredevils. The skipper, Kane Williamson who walked at number 3 paired Shikhar Dhawan to smash Delhi bowlers to all corners of the park with his classy strokeplay.

On the other hand, the local lad, Shikhar Dhawan took the onus of run-rate on his shoulders thus finding the fence often than not in his innings. The skipper, Kane and Dhawan joined to stitch a fantastic unbeaten 176-run partnership to outsmart the gutsy knock played by Rishabh Pant.
It was a perfect T20 kind of a chase from SRH batsmen as they were clean in their hitting and has been outstanding in rotating the strike. The way both batsmen took the calculated risk on a belter wicket is a pure entertainment for the fans and a learning display for the youngsters.
However, the win ensured Sunrisers Hyderabad to seal the spot in playoff stage with 18 points in their kitty while Delhi Daredevils are stationed at bottom of the points table.
