IPL 2018: Delhi Set to Face an Acid Test Against Rajasthan in a Must-Win Encounter
Both the sides have a got great stars in the ranks but unfortunately found themselves on the wrong side of the things. Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan Royals are in a great nick but somehow they are failing to get those crucial points in their kitty.
Meanwhile, it is a virtual quarter-final for Delhi Daredevils at their home.
Delhi Daredevils – Do or Die:
The season changed, captain changed, coaching panel changed, but the vows of Delhi Daredevils hasn’t changed an inch. They once again found themselves in the bottom half of the table. In a case of loss, they will be the first team to be out of the tournament. So, expect Delhi Daredevils to fight tooth and Nail against Rajasthan Royals at Feroz Shah Kotla.
The bowling department has an off day in their previous encounter when MS Dhoni and Co. took them to the cleaners. Plunkett was smacked to 52 runs in his three overs, and Boult too whacked for 48 runs.
However, it would have been a different story if umpire’s decision went in their way when Shane Watson was adjudged as not out on the first ball of the first over.
Coming to batting department, Jason Roy is licking his lips to secure the position of Colin Munro who is underfiring. Shreyas Iyer is in a great nick while Rishabh Pant showed what he is capable of doing.
Glenn Maxwell has become a great headache for the team, as he is yet to get into the party. Vijay Shankar too found his technique back. All in all, one can expect a decent show from Delhi batting tonight.
Rajasthan Royals – Big guns need to get into the party:
Rajasthan Royals are also on the similar plane to Delhi but on a slightly better position, mind you, very slightly. The loss tonight will shrink in their chances furtherly to make it to top four.
The loss against SRH could be hurting Rajasthan badly, as they were in the game throughout, but somehow Hyderabad bowlers snatched a victory from nowhere position.
The bowling department is looking quite strong with Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes finding their rhythm. Jaydev Unadkat has been an area of concern for the team.
Ish Sodhi has been drafted in their previous encounter ahead of Henrich Klaasen which has been one of the reasons to lose the game. However, Ajinkya Rahane would be the determined captain to take a win at any cost.
All in all, we are in for another cracker of the contests tonight. As there is a danger of being out of the tournament, expect Delhi would be coming all their guns blazing while expecting nothing less than Rajasthan, especially, with Shane Warne in their coaching panel. Brace yourselves for a perfect night.
