Yuvraj Singh is undoubtedly one of the finest names in Indian cricket history. His incredible performances in big-time propelled India to two World Cup glories in the 21st century.
The southpaw in the form of Yuvraj is an unsung hero for India and was the cornerstone in Indian batting until 2011 World Cup.
However, things took a wild turn during the mega event. The aggressive batsman suffered from cancer but still managed his worth with both bat and ball.
After defeating life-threatening cancer off the field, Yuvraj returned to the cricketing field after almost a year. The effects of chemotherapy definitely had an impact on his body. He was no longer the agile fielder in 2012 and his reflexes took a huge toll.

But he continued fighting hard and got back to fitness. On the other hand, his inconsistent form did not help his cause to cement his place in Indian team after he returned to the national fold. Once he was dropped from the squad, Yuvraj continued playing in the domestic circuit.
After some incredible performance in the 2016-17 domestic season, Yuvraj was called back to Indian team once again under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
In his inaugural comeback series against England, Yuvraj looked incredibly good with the bat. He soon was selected for Champions Trophy squad last summer.
But after his quickfire fifty against Pakistan in the opening match, the experienced campaigner looked completely anonymous in Indian jersey since then. He was dropped from the team on the basis of low Yo-Yo score. Despite proving his fitness, the trust of selectors did not return.
Unfortunately, it had somewhat dented Yuvraj’s confidence to a great deal. He was bagged for his base price of ₹2 crore by his home franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.
A very poor IPL 2018:
Considering his incredible experience in the middle order, Yuvraj Singh is considered as a bargain deal by Kings XI Punjab. But things did not turn out as expected as the elegant left-hander could not convert his starts into match-winning knocks.
Yuvraj looked sluggish throughout the season and failed quite badly against quality pace bowling.
On the other hand, the abundance of riches in Punjab roster did not help Yuvraj poor form as well. In his last game against Mumbai Indians (MI),
Yuvraj once again looked poor at his start. Just when he was going, he was dismissed via a run-out. He was unlucky to have not featured for the team since then.
Although his 18-year-old career is nothing short of surprises, we might have just seen Yuvraj play his last IPL game against Indians.
With Punjab needing to win the last two games this week, they might once again skip Yuvraj in favour of another bowler or middle order batsman. His incredible career cannot be determined by one IPL game or season,
But having said that, it is that crucial time even the die-hard Yuvraj Singh fan would think once that superstar is slowly fading before announcing his retirement.
