Hemant Dua, CEO of Delhi Daredevils, has said that there is no news of the franchise shifting the home base and it is playing all of their home matches at Feroz Sha Kotla stadium only.

“As far as we are concerned, we are playing all our matches here. As of now, there are no plans to move the matches out to any other venue,” he said.

Reports have suggested that the home games of Delhi Daredevils might be shifted due to clubhouse issues.

The civic authorities haven’t given clearance to Clubhouse and it is the space from where matches are televised.

In that block only, the cameras are installed and the main system is set-up.

If the court does not allow the area to be used, the broadcasting team would not be able to televise the match.

It needs a green signal from the court to be able to televise the game.

If the Delhi and District State Cricket Association (DDCA) is given clearance, then Feroz Shah Kotla will continue to host the games.

However, if the decision is not in favour, then the matches might be shifted out.

Both, state association and broadcasting team, are facing a race against time as the decision of the court will come on April 18. However, the match at Feroz Shah Kotla is to be played on April 23.

Both the parties will have less time to prepare for the game.

One of the ways to get out of this is by making a change in the fixtures.

Earlier as well, the fixtures of IPL have been tweaked a number of times due to various issues.

First, it was tweaked on request of Kings XI Punjab when the franchise asked for a change due to the closure of Chandigarh airport.

Later, elections on May 12 in Karnataka meant that Royal Challengers Bangalore’s home game was swapped.

Indeed, a change in the fixtures will be a difficult task. But it eventually seems to be the only way through which Feroz Shah Kotla will be ready to host the game.

Meanwhile, Hemant Dua owned Delhi Daredevils face Mumbai Indians in their next tie on April 14 at Wankhede Stadium.
