The change of captain worked for the Delhi Daredevils (DD) team, as they earned the much-needed two points beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 55 runs in Delhi.
Batting first, Delhi banked on their new skipper, Shreyas Iyer and posted a staggering 219 runs on the board. Iyer remained unbeaten on 93 runs off just 40 deliveries including ten towering sixes.
Moreover, young Prithvi Shaw also registered his first fifty in the IPL, as he contributed with 62 runs.
Meanwhile, in reply, KKR struggled because of their failing top-order. The likes of Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana have been the mainstays of Kolkata, who failed to get going.
The Delhi bowlers did an amazing job keeping the batsmen in check. However, Shubman Gill (37) and Andre Russell (44) tried their best, but it wasn’t enough, as they fell short by 55 runs.
As a result, Delhi will have now two wins from their seven games and will look to continue the winning momentum.

Prithvi Shaw: (8/10)
Shaw showed his class early in his IPL career. After showing some glimpses in the last outing, Shaw proved his potential in today’s game.
He played an outstanding knock of 62 runs off just 44 deliveries including seven fours and two sixes. Moreover, he provided Delhi with a perfect start they lacked.
Colin Munro: (6/10)
The swashbuckling opener from New Zealand showed some hint of form with the bat today. Munro provided a blistering start playing a knock of 33 runs off just 18 deliveries. Meanwhile, his return to form will be a huge bonus for Delhi.
Glenn Maxwell: (7.5/10)
The stage was perfectly set for Maxwell. However, he failed to get his timing right. Although he scored 27 off 18, an inform Maxwell would have doubled that.
Meanwhile, he gave an early breakthrough with the ball removing the dangerous Chris Lynn.
Rishabh Pant (wk): (0/10)

Rishabh Pant got out on a first ball duck, as Russell stunned him with a perfect bouncer. However, he has been a consistent scorer for the team and will look to continuing doing the job.
The management will also want some runs and continue the winning momentum from the southpaw.
Shreyas Iyer (c): (10/10)
Iyer was exceptionally good in his debut match as a captain. He led the team from the front, as he remained unbeaten 93 runs off just 40 deliveries. Iyer’s knock included three fours and ten towering sixes.
He was also good on the field taking control of the match from the word go.
Vijay Shankar: (1/10)

Shankar had a minimal role to play in this game. He bowled only one over and went for ten runs, as Iyer decided not to continue with him. However, he went to the middle with the bat but didn’t face a ball.
Rahul Tewatia: (0.5/10)

Tewatia had an off day in business, and he gave away 11 runs in his first over. As a result, Iyer didn’t give him any more overs.
However, he has performed well for the Daredevils and will look hit back to form.
Liam Plunkett: (6/10)

The England all-rounder was stunning since he came to this tournament. Plunkett bowled some tight length in the middle-over to contain the runs. He returned with none for 24 runs in his quota of full overs.
Amit Mishra: (7/10)

The veteran leg-spinner was stunning with the ball, as he helped Delhi to return to winning ways.
Mishra bowled four overs for 23 runs including one maiden and returned with two wickets.
Avesh Khan: (6.5/10)
The young seamer has left an early mark in this star-studded league. Coming in place of Mohammed Shami, Avesh has done a wonderful job. He picked two crucial wickets and gave away 29 runs from his four overs.
Trent Boult: (5.5/10)

Boult, after having some stunning outings had a rare off day, as he was taken for plenty of runs. Boult gave away 44 runs in his four overs, although picked two crucial wickets.
Meanwhile, Delhi will want him to bowl cheap overs in the upcoming fixtures.
