Rajasthan Royals (RR) held their nerves tight in a rain-marred encounter against Delhi Daredevils (DD) to come back to winning ways in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Royals’ bowlers kept things tight as Delhi failed to chase down the monumental target. After rain played its part in the game, the revised target was set at 70 from 36 deliveries.

Dhawal Kulkarni bowled a terrific second over as Delhi went out the game. Although, the batsmen put out a valiant effort by remained 10 runs short.

Meanwhile, Royals once again struggled with the bat at the top. However, few partnerships ensured Royals go past 150 before the rain gods poured in.

Ajinkya Rahane (c): (7.5/10)

Rahane once again played a skipper’s knock and lifted the team after they lost some early wickets.

It was Rahane’s 40 balls 45 that ensured Rajasthan post a good total.

D Arcy Short: (2/10)

It was the repetition of the same story for the Australian opener. He once again got run-out before scoring six runs off three balls.

Moreover, Short will be raring to spend some time in middle and contribute.

Sanju Samson: (8/10)

The stylish batsman from Kerala has shown great form in the opening matches of the league. He played a valuable knock of 37 runs from 22 deliveries.

Samson will like to continue his great run with the bat in the upcoming fixtures.

Ben Stokes: (5/10)

The hard-hitting all-rounder from England is yet to hit the right form. He will be livid with himself for no capitalising he starts.

Stokes played a 12 ball 16 runs knock before getting out.

Rahul Tripathi: (5.5/10)

Tripathi also continued his good form with the bat. His knock of 15 runs ensured the Royals go past 150 before the rains poured in.

Tripathi will look to continue his form and score quick runs in the middle-overs.

Jos Buttler (wk): (7/10)

Buttler showed some hint of form with his knock of 29 runs from just 18 deliveries. He scored runs at a rate of over 150 with the help of two boundaries and two sixes.

Rajasthan will want some more of such knock from the England wicket-keeper in the coming games.

Krishnappa Gowtham: (6.5/10)

Gowtham bowled the first over for Rajasthan and kept things tight giving away only 10 runs.

He also affected a run-out in the same over removing the dangerous Colin Munro.

Shreyas Gopal: (0/10)

The leg-spinner had no part to play in today’s fixture against the Daredevils.

However, he will be eager to contribute whenever he gets an opportunity.

 

Dhawal Kulkarni: (9.5/10)

Kulkarni was absolutely spot on today giving away only four runs in the second over. Further, he brought his experience to the forefront and pulled things in their favour.

RR will want some more impressive performance from the fast bowler.

Jaydev Unadkat: (6/10)

The left-armer was good with the ball during such pressure situation. He gave away 24 runs from 2 overs returning with one wicket.

It was pretty average performance considering the situation of the game.

Ben Laughlin: (7/10)

The fast-bowler from Australia did the job for the reasons he was bought by the franchise. He gave away only 20 runs from 2 overs and most importantly picked two wickets to halt Delhi’s innings.

He will look to contribute more in the next games for Rajasthan Royals.
