The debate over Mankading is not settling down any time soon. It’s turned fans into analysts and subsequently, the hashtag is trending over social media. Yes, the game between hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) saw Ravichandran Aswin doing what we didn’t expect. But it’s the law which has taken its own course. Thus, the debate further saw veterans of the game weighing in to talk about the spirit which holds significance in every sport. Ben Stokes and Shane Warne is among them for all different reasons.
The spirit at the same time lies in conscience and player like Jos Buttler will be reminded of it for a long time and certainly for a reason.
Ben Stokes on Mankading:
The spin wizard from Australia, Warne is disappointed with the way things have unfolded at Jaipur. Warne, who is livid with Ashwin believes KXIP will lose fans following the episode of Mankading.
Meanwhile, in his series of tweets, the leg-spinner has mentioned England all-rounder Stokes by saying what if he does that to batting giant Virat Kohli. He added, he’s hopeful to see the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) taking a step in this regard.
Here’s what Shane Warne posted earlier before a composed response from Stokes
Sorry – one more thing to add. If Ben Stokes did what Ashwin did to @imVkohli it would be ok ? I’m just very disappointed in Ashwin as I thought he had integrity & class. Kings lost a lot of supporters tonight. Especially young boys and girls ! I do hope the BCCI does something

The Durham-based all-rounder Stokes represents Royals (RR). He revealed he won’t dare to repeat what he witnessed in Jaipur on March 25.
While using the hashtag of ‘Halla Bola’, hopeful Stokes maintained he has no intention to dismiss Team India skipper Virat Kohli in such fashion during the 2019 home-bound World Cup.
Meanwhile, the quadrennial event will commence from May 30 in London.
“Hopefully, I’m playing in the World Cup final and if @imVkohli is batting when I’m bowling I would never ever ever ever ever ever…..just clarifying to the mentions I’ve received 😊 #hallabol,” Stokes responds to Warne via a tweet.
How the incident embroiled into controversy?
During the 13th over of Royals’ innings when they were chasing 185, Mankading came into action. Ashwin during the delivery stride for a momentary pause to whip-off the bails. The replays clearly indicated he is bound to be given out as per the law of the game.
However, in between the same over, Buttler ambled forward for a couple of times. It further let to expletives when he trudged off the ground. Buttler faced 43 deliveries for his quickfire 69.
Well, Punjab won the game by 14 runs. The visitors restricted Royals to 170 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
