IPL 2019: Dale Steyn Is X-Factor, Yuzvendra Chahal Is Special – AB de Villiers
After a fine time in the Indan Premier League 2019, RCB bowled with an intent on the other night facing Chennai Super Kingsat M Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was Dale Steyn, who made a massive impact on the game to see Virat Kohli-led side cross the victory line. Meanwhile, the superstar AB de Villiers calls Dale Steyn and Yuzvendra Chahal as special cricketers.
The first thirty minutes of the CSK innings completely goes in favour of the RCB bowlers. Dale Steyn, a mid-innings recruit, showcased his talent for the team with his fantastic display of fast bowling. It was followed by the brilliant spell of Yuzvendra Chahal, who restricted runs and scalped the wicket of Ambati Rayudu.
Dale Steyn has brought a pedigree power:
Meanwhile, AB de Villiers, in his column to Times of India, quoted that the fast bowler Dale Steyn is an X-factor for the team. He also highlighted his first over against Chennai Super Kings, when he thrashed Shane Watson and Suresh Raina in the consecutive deliveries.
“Dale has brought pedigree power to our Powerplay, and his early dismissals of (Shane) Watson and (Suresh) Raina were hugely significant. He has brought X-factor to our attack, and our other seamers seem to feed off him, taking heart and confidence from his example,” AB de Villiers wrote.
Further, he went on to give his appreciations to Yuzvendra Chahal, who understood the conditions and bowled brilliantly. Apart from the one six by MS Dhoni, Chahal has been pretty smart in delivering things for the team.
”Yuzi is a special cricketer. He represented India in the world youth chess championship, so it’s no surprise that he brings meticulous plans and strategies to his leg-break bowling. His spell was magnificent on Sunday, as, giving the batsman no flight at all, he conceded only 18 runs off 23 balls until MS launched his very last delivery over long-off,” the former South Africa captain added
RCB is fighting hard to stay in the tournament – AB de VIlliers
The flamboyant striker of the ball also quoted that the team is fighting hard to stay in the tournament alive. He also added that every individual in the team has given his best in the CSK game, where they escaped MS Dhoni scare.
“Everybody at RCB is pulling together and fighting hard to stay in this tournament, and we were satisfied when sent in to bat, we posted 161 (against CSK). We then survived an epic late onslaught by MS Dhoni, and scrambled home by the smallest possible margin,” AB de Villiers wrote in his column for The Times of India on Tuesday
All in all, Dale Steyn has been a brilliant addition for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The experienced character in the team is always a blessing, as he can operate things from the front. Meanwhile, they will prepare to host Kings XI Punjab on April 24th.
