David Warner drubbed 81 off 56 deliveries to give himself a fitting farewell and helped Sunrisers Hyderabad inch closer to a playoff spot with a 45-run win over Kings XI Punjab at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday (April 29).

The presence of David Warner was a huge positive for the team. He announced his comeback in a style by smashing a scintillating knock for Hyderabad at Eden Gardens. Later, he continued in the remaining games and also bagged a century to be the leading run-scorer of the tournament at present.
Warner has scored more than 500 runs in all the seasons he has been associated with SRH. In 2016, he smashed 848 runs which are the second most in a single season by a batsman. He was named man-of-the-match on Monday as SRH won their sixth match this season.
All in all, he walked back to the dugout – after scoring 692 runs, eight fifties, one hundred, at an average of almost 70 at a strike rate above 140. Now, he will look to carry his form in ICC World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad would look for new options.
