With spectators at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi going wild minutes after the sensational Super Over bowled by Kagiso Rabada, Delhi Capitals‘ (DC) hero has clenched his fist to express the joy before beaming face literally lit the night skies. Thus, Brad Hodge and Deep Dasgupta have lauded Rabada’s efforts. In the ongoing IPL 2019 edition, DC vs KKR game turned out to be a humdinger.

Rabada has reaped rewards while relying on his core skills. Besides, Dasgupta and Hodge are thinking on similar lines. So far, the first week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has witnessed plenty of action.

“Phenomenal, under pressure against one of the brutal batsman (Andre Russell) trying to defend the total (11) and (he) started off with a four and then what a comeback,” Dasgupta told ESPNcricinfo.

IPL 2019: Punctual Rabada relishes with successful super over at home:

Having the slender body, Rabada steamed in, and bowled six yorkers with full throttle. And among six yorkers he bowled four pure gold deliveries. When visitors KKR required 11 runs in the super over, Shreyas Iyer without any hesitancy whatsoever brought South African recruit Rabada to roll-over his arm for the glory.

Former Australian batsman Hodge believes young Rabada has kept things simple and backed himself while bowling perfect Yorkers.

“I mean when you’ve got a fast bowler like Kagiso Rabada in your ranks you got to have him set him up their everyday. Yes, he is up there in the (Jasprit) Bumrah category,” told Hodge.

And, it was an overall eighth tie game in the IPL history since Rajasthan Royals (RR) took on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Cape Town during the second edition of the IPL.

Interestingly, thus far KKR has been involved in three games, whereas, Delhi registered their second tie since their previous game in 2013 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru.

Earlier, Prasidh Krishna bowled outstandingly well to tie up Delhi batsmen.

When KKR required 11 off six deliveries, Andre Russell belted the very first ball towards square leg for a four. However, what followed turned out to be a nightmare for the visitors.

Rampant Rabada returned with a perfect yorker and above all a dot ball. He bowled peach of a delivery to uproot Russell’s middle stump. When KKR required seven of last three balls, Robin Uthappa scampered for a single when being cramped for a room.

With equation coming to six off two, full toss saw Dinesh Karthik finding a short leg fielder to perfection.

However, on facing the last ball, Uthappa found the toe-end of his bat only to see Rabada’s efforts to rekindle Capitals resurgence.

Earlier, batting first, visitors were reeling at 61 for five in 9.1 overs. However, skipper Karthik alongside Russell forged 95-run stand for the sixth wicket. Both rose on the occasion with the fifties each to help their side to post 185 for eight on the board.

In response, Prithvi Shaw blasted 55-ball 99. But it didn’t turn out to be enough, as Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliant last over.
