It was an unfortunate run of form for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2019. They have started things on a bright note by winning the games on a consistent basis. They won four out of their first five games, which saw them on the top of the points table. But, unfortunately, they lost their way in the middle. Meanwhile, the ex-skipper Gautam Gambhir makes his voice on the troubles.
Their only loss came in the first five games was against Delhi Capitals, when the result came in the super over. But, after the fifth game against Rajasthan Royals, they failed to achieve success in as many as five games, which saw them on the bottom half of the table.
They lost pretty poorly to Chennai Super Kings when they travelled Cheppauk Stadium. Following it, they were outsmarted by the class of Shikhar Dhawan in then own den, Eden Gardens. Then again, Chennai Super Kings travelled Eden, where they chased down the tally with ease.

That made a hat-trick of losses for the team. The troubles further stretched when they lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 10 runs in their home ground. It was a high-scoring game, where Robin Uthhapa was a culprit. Then, they travelled Hyderabad, where Jonny Bairstow and David Warner put on a show.
Meanwhile, the former skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders Gautam Gambhir gave his words of spirit for the team. He asks the team to regroup and start winning for the team once again. He also asked to utilise the talent in the side to make things fall in place for the team.
Digging into his tweet, it read ”It’s tough to see
@KKRiders go down like this. Come on guys there is loads of talent in that dressing room. Just regroup fast, believe in yourself and go for the kill. We can do it.”

Perhaps, they were too relied on Andre Russell, who has been their match-winner in the last few games. The batsmen are losing their way and failing to put their hands up when it mattered the most. Currently, they are placed 6th in the points table. In the next assignment, they will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals back home.
