Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who is all set to lead Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has expressed delight on joining back the camp at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Concurrently, Kohli is sweating out in nets to gear up for the twelfth edition of the IPL. With the latest edition of IPL 2019 kicking off on March 23 between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kohli-led Bangalore in Chennai, Kohli has the onus on himself right from the get-go.

The 30-year-old star Kohli has played a quintessential role for Bangalore-bound franchise in the past editions. The top-order batsman Kohli is eager to take the field for the much-awaited edition of the domestic professional T20 league.

Recently, Kohli has a brilliant run in the white-ball format which subsequently saw him slamming 41st hundred in Ranchi following 116 against Australia at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

Kohli’s ability to score runs on the consistent bases has been a testimony of success. Following his dynamic show, he has been at the helm of affairs since 2013 for the RCB.

Since making his debut in 2008, Kohli has featured in 163 matches for the Bangalore-based franchise. He has amassed 4948 runs at an average of 38.35.

Kohli has slammed four tons and 34 half-centuries to his name. He further slammed 434 fours and 178 sixes while remaining unbeaten on 26 occasions.

Kohli is aiming high for the forthcoming season while working alongside head coach Gary Kirsten and bowling coach Ashish Nehra. Overall, Kohli is the sixth captain at the helm of affairs for RCB.

In addition, AB de Villiers will strengthen the core of the Bangalore side.

It hasn’t been easiest of the journey for the RCB. The team has made it to the IPL grand finale on three occasions in 2009, 2011 and 2016 respectively.

Interestingly, RCB holds a record of the highest total of 263 for five apart from bagging an unwanted record of 49 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

With IPL 2019 around the corner, Kohli is bracing up for a challenge while aiming to lay hands on his first-ever IPL title as a captain, in particular.
