It was another humdrum between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad as the match went down to the wire. Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer was on cloud nine after winning the match against SRH. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 162 runs after Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and decided to bowl first. Hyderabad got off to a flying start as Saha and Guptill added 31 runs in the first three overs. However, the Orange Army lost the wicket of Martin Guptill and did not get the momentum in their innings.
Kane Williamson crawled to 28 runs off 27 balls whereas Manish Pandey meandered to 30 runs after facing 36 balls. However, Vijay Shankar added the finishing touches as he scored 11-ball 25. Furthermore, Mohammed Nabi scored 20 runs from 13 balls.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals got off to a good start as Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw added 66 runs for the opening stand. However, Dhawan was brilliantly stumped by Wriddhiman Saha when the southpaw charged Deepak Hooda.
Shaw timed the ball with perfection however the flamboyant batsman was dismissed soon after completing his 4th IPL fifty. Delhi Capitals then lost wickets in the cluster when Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets in 11th over the innings.

Rashid Khan also bowled a two-wicket over when he snared the wicket of Colin Munro and Axar Patel. However, Rishabh Pant came up with a blistering knock. The turning point of the match came when Pant dispatched Basil Thampi for two sixes and as many fours to take 22 runs of the 18th over. Pant scored a fine knock of 49 runs off 21 balls but could not add the finish off the match.
Shreyas Iyer gives credit to the collective team performance.
Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer gave credit to his bowlers for pulling back the things in the middle overs.
Shreyas Iyer said while talking in the post-match presentation, “I can’t express my emotions. It felt like I have been sitting and watching for years when it came to the last two overs. I could see the happiness on everyone’s faces. Hoping for another one at Chennai. Looking forward to the next game. But the start they got was really good on this track. We controlled in the middle phase. Mishi pa was exceptional as he conceded only 15 runs. The other bowlers did well to bowl economically. I personally feel you can’t really control them (on Pant and Prithvi). When you stop a batsman like Pant or Prithvi, it hampers their mind and their flow. It was good that both of them came good tonight.
Delhi Capitals will play Chennai Super Kings in the second Qualifier on 10th May at the same venue of Visakhapatnam.
