It is a dream of every father to witness his son excel in his field. At just 17 years, Riyan Parag is playing in the Indian Premier League and has made his parents proud. Parag’s father Parag Das stated that it was a surreal feeling when his son was bowling to Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, Riyan Parag also played for the Indian team in the Under-19 World Cup. In fact, he also became the first 21st century born to play in the Ranji Trophy. On the other hand, Parag has impressed with his temperament while playing in the ongoing season for the Rajasthan Royals.

Parag has impressed with his temperament.

“Not only the IPL, he is the first 21st century-born Ranji Trophy, who played first-class cricket”, his father, Parag Das, also the former Ranji Trophy player (from Assam) also said from Guwahati.

Meanwhile, Parag was at his best against Kolkata Knight Riders. The right-hander scored a fine knock of 47 runs off just 31 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. In fact, the youngster has batted with great maturity.

Parag Das added, “It was surreal to see him bowl to Dhoni”. 

On the other hand, Riyan Parag’s childhood photo with MS Dhoni and the current photo is going viral on social media. Das recalls that the photo was taken when the Indian team had come to Guwahati for a match. However, that match was called off due to rain and young Parag was able to meet MS Dhoni.

“The photo was taken by Riyan’s mom. When the Indian team came to Guwahati for a match, but it was abandoned due to rain. Indian players went to the shooting range for fun and at that time this photo was clicked”, explains father.

Meanwhile, Parag Das revealed that they did whatever they could to help their son get to this level. In fact, Parag has shown the right temperament at such a tender age and he is going to be the future of Indian cricket.

“Whatever he wanted we backed him to the best we could. It was entirely Riyan’s decision and we are content with whatever he has chosen”.

Riyan Parag will like to continue in a similar fashion and he has a bright future ahead of him. He is a star in the making and he would only get better from here on.
