There comes the major blow for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2019 ahead of the Qualifier-1. Their star player Kedar Jadhav, who suffered a shoulder injury will most probably miss the playoffs in order to be fit for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

Jadhav suffered the shoulder injury when he desperately attempted to stop a ball in the game against Kings XI Punjab, which was their last league match in the tournament. Immediately, he was rushed to take the scans but there was no official report on his future for CSK.

He will not be playing in Playoffs:

Meanwhile, one of the sources quoted to IANS saying that the all-rounder Kedar Jadhav will be missing the remaining part of the tournament. Jadhav will be looking to be fit for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 before the team leaves to England.

“He will not be playing in the playoffs as he needs to be fit when the Indian team leaves for the World Cup,” the source told IANS.

Last night, after the conclusion of the game, Stephen Fleming quoted that they have sent Kedar Jadhav for the Scans and not sure about the reports. They don’t want to push him, as he is India’s primary member for the ICC World Cup 2019. However, he feels that it would be a tough loss if it goes against CSK.

“Kedar is getting an X-ray and a scan tomorrow. We’re hopeful for him. I don’t think we’ll see him again in this tournament for us. So now his attention will turn to what it looks like for the World Cup. He’s in some discomfort but we just need to be accurate with our assessments tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it’s nothing too serious,” Fleming had said.

Kedar Jadhav has always faced similar situations right throughout his career. He always failed to be fit enough for his side when it matters the most. This is the second straight season when Kedar Jadhav missed to be available for the team in the Indian Premier League.

However, it could be the blessing in disguise for the team, as he wasn’t in a great form with the bat. Meanwhile, it would open curtains for Dhruv Shorey, who is waiting for his chance to prove his mettle for the team.
