IPL 2019: Kings XI Punjab Yet To Get A ”Title” Sponsor

Kings XI Punjab, who are yet to win a trophy in the Indian Premier League has dented with yet another blow. They are yet to get a title sponsor for the upcoming edition of the lucrative tournament. They are left with 3 days to finalise their title sponsor for the IPL 2019.

Punjab is set to face their first clash against Rajasthan Royals on Monday. It will be their away game, as Rajasthan set to host the event. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking for them to get the title sponsor.

It is going to be a major loss for Kings XI Punjab:

With the time being the huge factor, the buyers have got a good chance to steal the deal at a less price. However, the lack of star players is being a big worry for the team, as the sponsors are fearing to invest.

The delay has harmed the Mohali-based IPL team’s interests severely. The team has now priced the title at less than 50% of the CSK or Mumbai Indians title price tag, still, no deal is closed.

“When it comes to the brink, brands are smart enough to realise there is no buyer. Secondly, brands now will also not get enough time for activations. Where is the time to make TVCs? Where is the time for Press conference and activations?” an executive in buying firm quoted as per Inside Sport.

”It is going to be a major, major loss for Punjab. No way they will get the desired value, which anyway was very low,” says the executive. “I will still maintain any deal for a brand will be a big win, win situation.”

Well, it would be interesting to see whether Kings XI Punjab will receive any buyer in the meantime or not. They would hope for the best in order to control their loss. The last time sponsor Kent RO backed out to extend their work.

For Chennai Super Kings, they got strong support in the form of Muthoot Finance. Meanwhile, for Royal Challengers, Virat Kohli’s Wrogn will be the title sponsor. The notable brands Samsung and Nokia will sponsor Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.
